Taj Mahal

More than 20,000 workers worked day and night to build Taj Mahal. It was built in the 17th century and costed around 35 million rupees. The architecture of this architectural wonder is a perfect blend of Persian, Turkish and Indian styles of architecture. Initially this monument was studded with precious and semi-precious stones.
Agra Fort
It is another enchanting attraction of Agra. Recognized as a World Heritage Site, this fort was built in 1565 by the Mughal Emperor Akbar. Made up of red sandstone it served as a palace during the reign of the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan. Covering an area of 2.5 km, the fort boasts of several wonderful apartments such as Khaas Mahal, Sheesh Mahal, Diwan-e-am, Diwan-e-Khas, Jehangir Palace, Pearl Mosque and Musamman Burj.
Fatehpur Sikri
Located near Agra, Fatehpur Sikri is a city popular for the tomb of a Sufi Saint Salim Chisti. The mosque resembles the mosque at Mecca and is visited by people from all over the world. According to the legend the Mughal emperor Akbar got his first heir with the blessings of the saint Salim Chisti.
Sikandra
Sikandra is located 13 km off Agra Fort and is known for the tomb of the Mughal Emperor Akbar. The secular nature of the emperor clearly and beautifully reflects in his own mausoleum which is a fine blend of Hindu, Islamic, Buddhist, Jain and Christian styles of architecture. Standing tall with the three-storied red sandstone minarets, the tomb is known as Sikandra.
